Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

HSBC Life (UK) Limited is covered by the FSCS. If HSBC Life (UK) Limited is unable to meet its obligations, you may be able to claim compensation. This is limited to transferring your policy to another insurer providing a new policy. If this is not possible, then the FSCS will provide cover for 100% of the claim with no upper limit.

We’re proud of our claims record and the levels of service we provide.

We have been helping people protect their families for over 30 years. Last year (2020) across all sales channels HSBC Life (UK) Ltd paid out 99% of all Life claims and 94% of all Critical Illness claims. The total amount paid out was £23m in Critical Illness claims and £37m in Life claims.

HSBC Onshore Investment Bond – track record

HSBC Onshore Investment product has a 2021 Defaqto 5 Star Rating and a Defaqto Gold Service rating for third consecutive year. Defaqto independently rates products across more than 60 categories and a product with a 5-star rating is considered by Defaqto to be an ‘excellent product with a comprehensive range of features and benefits’. Defaqto service rating is based on Financial Adviser feedback.
