  • Life Cover –  HSBC will offer standard rate decisions, increase to the premium or be unable to provide a quote
  • Critical Illness Cover & TPD – HSBC will offer standard rate decisions or be unable to provide a quote.

There are some rules that apply across all applicants with a family history of motor neuron disease – that would not result in HSBC being able to offer Life Cover, Critical Illness Cover & TPD at the current time. Such as:

  • More than 2 family members diagnosed with motor neuron disease
  • Applicant being under the age of 45.

This is a general guide and is not a guarantee of acceptance.

NB: The decision will vary based on the age of when the family history was diagnosed.
